Day 1 After arriving in Kunming "the Spring City", you will then take
a two hours drive to Tonghai. On the way, you can visit Xiushan
park that is an 800 years old famous Buddhist mountain, and a
Mongolian village in which all the inhabitants are the descents of
the Mongolian conqueror-Kublai Khan. The drive continues for 2.5
hours to Jianshui, where you will stay overnight..
Day 2 After the breakfast you can visit the 400 years old Chaoyang
Tower Gate. The small city of Jianshui was the cultural center of
southern Yunnan Province several centuries ago. In the past, the
people of this city were very rich due to the natural deposits of tin
in this area. So now you can see many big old Chinese traditional
private houses in the city. You will have a chance to visit one of
them - Zhu Family Garden. Also you will visit the second largest
Confucian Temple in China. The evening ends with an overnight
stay in Jianshui.
Day 3 Sightseeing includes the Double-dragon-bridge and
Tuanshan village. You will continue to drive 150 km far away to
Yuanyang, where you will find the Yi and Hani nationalities. On the
way you will visit a Hani village. Stay overnight in Yuanyang.
Day 4 Experience the high point of the trip: get up early in morning
to see the beautiful cloud sea over the rice terraced fields. These
are the biggest rice terraced fields in the world. After a leisurely lunchtime break in Yuanyang, you will then drive 3 hours to Hekou, where you will stay overnight.
Day 5 Take a stroll on the border between China and Vietnam and
visit the Vietnamese trading market, where you can enjoy the
beautiful landscape of the Honghe River. Overnight in Hekou.
Day 6 Back to Shilin by bus. On the way you can see the biggest
Buddha in Asia and enjoy the farming and natural scenery.
Overnight in Shilin.
Day 7 Take a stroll in the 270 million years old Stone Forest. In the afternoon you will return to Kunming.
Day 8 Wander through the Bird and Flower Market. This ends the tour. |
