Day 01、 Arrive in Kunming and transfer to Golden Dragon Hotel, welcome dinner in the hotel. ( D ) Overnight in Kunming
Day 02、 MU5939 ( 0740/0825 ) fly to Shangri-la ( Zhongdian ), transfer to the hotel. 10:00 visit Songzanlin Tibetan Buddhism Monastery. 12:30 have lunch, 14:00 visit Tibetan villages outside of the city. 16:00 visit the local market and Zhongdian Old Town. 18:30 have dinner in the typical Tibetan restaurant named Nanka Mingdian.20:00 enjoying the folk dancing in the square in the old town.

Day 03、 08:30 leave the hotel for Dongzhulin Monastery. 09:45 stop for photo at the Fulong Bridge ( Yangtze Bridge, km1980 ). 10:10 stop for photo at panorama point of First Bend of Golden Sand River ( Yangtze River, km1960 ). 10:45 visit Dongzhulin Monastery ( km 1952 ). 11:30 leave the Monastery for Bengzilan Town. 12:15 have lunch in Bengzilan Town. 13:30 leave Bengzilan Town for Shangri-la. 16:00 back to Zhongdian City and free time. 18:30 have dinner. 20:00 do the Tibetan house - visiting and enjoy the performance and milk tea given by Tibetan people.

Day 04、 08:30 bus to Lijiang. 10:00 visit Tiger-Leaping Gorge on the way, 12:00 have lunch in Tiger-Leaping Gorge Town. 14:30 arrive in Lijiang and check in the hotel. 15:00 visit Puji Temple and Lijiang Old Town. 18:30 have dinner in the Lijiang Old Town. 20:00 enjoy Mr. Xuanke' s Naxi Ancient Music.

Day 05、 08:30 set out to take cable car to Jade Dragon Mountain for glacier. 12:30 have lunch in Suhe Old Town and then visit it. 18:30 have dinner in the hotel.

Day 06、 MU5805 (0940/1020) fly to Kunming, 11:00 visit the bird & flower market, 12:00 have lunch in the Chinese old house restaurant named Ma' s Family Courtyard, 13:00 visit Golden Horse & Green Cock Archways ( the landmark of Kunming ). 14:00 visit traditional Chinese tea house by the airport.15:00 arrive at airport then take MF9453 (1605/1705) fly to Jinghong. Day 07、 08:30 leave the hotel. 09:20 arrive at Galanba, visit local morning market, Water Dai people village, rubber garden and Burmese temple. 12:00 have lunch in the Red House Restaurant. 14:00 visit Botanic Garden. 17:00 have dinner in the hotel.

Day 08、08:30 drive to visit Wild Elephant Valley ( natural reserve area ), take single way cable car to enjoy the raining forest. On the way back visit Dry Dai people village and Jinuo people village. 18:00 back to the hotel. 19:00 have dinner in the local restaurant.

Day 09、 At 15:00 at Jinghong port in China, join the unique river vessel, Mekong Prince, the first German-Chinese owned river ship on the upper Mekong . Settle into your comfortable cabin and unpack for a eight days cruise through the previously inaccessible wonders of the Mekong . Enjoy the spacious decks and lounge on board and attend our Welcome Reception and dinner this evening. A selection of Asian and European food will be provided throughout the cruise. Sail on through southern Yunnan province amid picturesque scenery to a remote market town on the border of China and Burma , Guanlei, where we will stay overnight.

Day 10、 After clearing Chinese customs, we cruise through the primitive tropical rain forests in this almost inaccessible no mans land between Burma and Laos where wild nature seems unaffected on the Burmese side and an occasional border guard post under multi-colored sunscreens appears on the Laotian side. The landscape becomes more and more spectacular with hills covered with tropical vegetation, impressive rock formations along the river banks and rapid and slow currents on the river. We arrive today at the northern Lao village of Muang Mom .

Day 11、This morning we will visit the temple forest close to Muang Mom on the Burmese side. Later, we cruise through rapid currents, amid rocky cliffs and beside spectacular mountains. Today’s final destination is Thai Chiang Saen in the Golden Triangle region between Burma, Laos and Thailand, where we have to check in at Thai Chiang Saen Immigration to Thailand. After check in, we will disembark from the Mekong Prince cruise ship and visit the Golden Buddha of Sop Ruak and other attractions during a sightseeing tour. After returning form the shore excursion you will embark on the new and comfortable Lao Cruise ship Mekong Sun.

Day 12、The morning is spent in Chiang Saen to get to know this once notorious region. An organized sightseeing tour leads you to visit the opium museum, the Doi Tung Royal Orchid Botanical Gardens and if time permits we will also visit the Monkey Cave. At night you will enjoy again the comfort of your cruise ship.

Day 13、 This morning is free at leisure. In the afternoon, we continue cruising to the nearby Lao town of Huay Xay on the Laotian - Thai border. Our voyage continues into northern Laos amid more beautiful scenery.

Day 14、 The river traffic increases as we pass through a densely populated region accessible only by water. Relax on deck or in the lounge and soak up the remote scenery. Today is full of scenic highlights. Visit of local Wats and market in Huay Xay and continue to the small village Pak Tha. From here we will do a shore excursion with long tail boats on the Namtha river to visit a Khmu village On the way back to the Mekong Sun we will also be able to visit a local minority village of the Hmong hill tribe. After arrival on the Mekong Sun we will continue downstream and angkor at a sand bank.

Day 15、Just a short while after leaving the sandbank, we will arrive in Pakbeng, where we will have a small coffee break at a lodge. If the time allows it, we will visit the market before we continue our cruise to see an elephant camp, where we will be able to see logging elephants in action. The night we will spend again at a beautiful sandbank. This last evening on board will be celebrated with a farewell dinner.
(B/L/D) Overnight aboard the RV Mekong Sun Day 16、 A very famous tourist attraction is the visit of the famous Pak Ou Caves, with thousands of small Buddha statues inside deep caverns. The local liquor distillery at Ban Xang Hay will welcome you just after continuing our cruise downstream. This last evening on board will be celebrated with a farewell dinner and a local traditional baci ceremony, which is believed to bring good luck for continuing your trip. Today, our spectacular river cruise ends with our arrival in Luang Prabang, we disembark in the former royal capital of Laos, now UNESCO World Heritage Site.
