Day 01  Shanghai 1N in 4* Ocean Hotel
Meet the local guide in the airport and transfer to the hotel.

Day 02 Shanghai C Chengdu 1N in 4* Tibet Hotel or similar Connection FLT to Chengdu, the bustling queen city of west China and capital of Sichuan Province. You will be picked up by our guide at Chengdu airport and transfer to hotel. This evening celebrate your arrival with a Sichuan food dinner. As an option, see a wonderful performance of "face changing" and "films sitting-out" of Sichuan opera.

Day 03 Chengdu C Kangding 400 km 1N 3* Kangding Hotel
Drive to Kangding along Chengdu_Yaan Highway. Pass by Yaan ( the Rainy City ); Drive through the newly built 4176-meter-long tunnel ( highest in China ) on Mt. Erlang, cross through the famous channel of Mt. Erlang; have a stopover to visit Luding Iron Chain Bridge over Dadu River .During the journey enjoy the rural scenery in western Sichuan Plain. Arrive at Kangding

Day 04 Kangding C Yajiang - Litang 330 km 3N in Gaocheng Hotel
In the late afternoon we will reach the way visit Tagong Monastery. Travel day, cross three high passes respectively the Gye La Pass ( 4290 m ), Gaoersi Pass ( 4300 m ) and Jianzhiwuan Pass ( 4700 m ). Cross the bridge over Gyarong River at Yajiang. Litang , is called the High Town in the world due to its sea level over 4100 meters.

Day 05 / 06 Litang Horse riding Festival
The annual Litang Horse Race, held at the high altitude town of Litang ( 4000m ) from August 1 to 7th, is the most celebrated holiday on the Chinese Tibetan grasslands. The Tibetans will come from far away and set tents to wait for the big days very early. After the wonderful ceremony with traditional Tibetan dancing and songs, the most exciting event is the horse races. The brave riders will take their pretty decorated horses to participate the races and showcase their excellent horse riding skills, such as picking up the scarlet on the back of a fast running horse, shooting at targets while on the gallop, etc. The women are all in their most beautiful best with magnificent jewelry as they shower their applauses on their heroes. The festival is also a good time for trade and various Tibetan-style goods are exchanged here amongst the visitors from all over.
We will spent 2 days at Litang to watch the horse races, and hopefully can captures some of the most thrilling moments on film. There are opportunities to make friend with the friendly Tibetan people and of course, also visit Litang monastery in our free time.

Day 07 Litang C Nyarong ( Xinlong ) C Garze 280 km 1N in Khamba Hotel
After breakfast, drive to Garze by gravel road. Garze is a great Tibetan town. There is a huge monastery, old Tibetan houses and glaciers on the mountains. The landscape side has become the Tibetan plateau with cows, grasslands, yaks, and horses. .Visit Garze Monastery on arrival Garze.


Day 08 Garze - Payul ( Baiyu ) 250 km 1N in Pelyul Guesthouse
Crossing a watershed pass ( 4237 ), we drive to Pelyul today. Pelyul county comprises the lateral valleys of the tributaries of the Yangtze. With the altitude of 3261 m, the town is a large and rapid expanding town with a considerable Chinese population. Two outstanding Nyingmapa monasteries Katok and Pelyul, are located within the county. Visit Pelyul Monastery in the afternoon. This renovated monastery was
founded in 1665 by the King of Derge.


Day 09 Pelyul C Katok C Derge 240 km 2 N 3*Quershan Hotel
Following the upstream of Yangtze drive to Derge. On the way visit Katok Monastery on the way. The monastery was founded in 1159 by Katok Dampa Deshek and it is revered as the main pilgrimage site of Buddha-activity in Kham and as the oldedst surviving monastery of the Nyingma school, excluding Samye and the temples constructed by the early kings. on the way. If time allowed, as an option, we may pay a visit to Pelpung Monastery, which was the largest Kagyu pa monastery within the kingdom of Derge, and rapidly became the most important center in east Tibet for the study of the Kagyu tradition. Arrive at Derge town in the late afternoon.

Day 10 Whole day excursion in Derge
Derge was the largest and most influential of the five kingdom of Kham. The crafts of Derge, particularly in printing and metal work were renowned throughout Tibet. Visit the famous Derge Parkhang Printing Press, which is the largest printing house in Tibet area. Then we may visit Gonchen monastery. In the afternoon, we may take a short walk to the old part of the town to visit the small but interesting Tangyel Lhakhang.

Day 11 Derge - Manigango- Yilhun Lhatso-Garze 240 km 1 N in 3*Quershan Hotel
Leave for Garze in the morning. Drive up to Chola Pass ( 5000 m above sea level ),get cross the steep Chola Mountain, highest peak of which is 5060 m above sea level. Crossing On
