MC-02 Jinghong-Chiang Saen-Chiang Rai-Chiang Mai ( by speed boat 9D8N )

Day 1  Arrive in Jinghong, transfer to the hotel and check in.
(D)  Overnight in Jinghong
Day 2  In the morning visit Ganlanba, morning market, water Dai villages, Burmese temple and rubber garden on the way. After lunch visit biggest Botanic Garden in China in Menglun.

Day 3  In the morning Wild Elephant Valley (natural reserve area), enjoy the elephant show, then take cable car to get through the primitive raining forest. In the afternoon visit Dry Dai people village on the way back. 16:00 back to the city to try local tea in tea-house. 19:00 have Dai people’s Bar-B-Q as dinner.

Day 4  At 08:00 get on board of Chinese speed boat Tianda at Jinghong Port in China ( 0800 am ). In the afternoon arrive in Chiang Saen ( Golden Triangle ). Meet the local guide and transfer to the hotel.

Day 5  After breakfast visit Wat Pa Sak , about one kilometer to the west of Chiang Saen in Tambon Wiang, was built by King Saen Phu in 1295 and three hundred teak trees were planted, hence the name Pa Sak (Teak Woods). It was then the residence of the patriarch. The temple’s chedi is of the beautiful Chiang Saen architectural style and the exteriors are elaborately decorated with designs. The chedi itself measures 12.5 meters tall with a base of 8 meters wide. Have buffer lunch in Imperial Golden Triangle Resort with the view. It traces opium’s global journey through trade routes in the age of imperialism, culminating in the Opium Wars-an event that disgraced both winners and losers, leading to the fall of the Manchu Dynasty through to the Siamese wisdom in confronting the West and the eventual control of opium problems. Here visitors learn how drugs become a part of everyday life and obtain an understanding on opium prohibition, crime and conflict, effects of illegal drugs, and the efforts to curb drugs through actual case studies that offer choices and opportunities in fighting against the temptation of drugs. Hall of Opium also presents paraphernalia associated with opium smoking and trading. along with many photographs, films, and videos about opium and other illegal drugs from countries around the world. Day 7  Bus to Chiang Mai. Visit Home Industries to see how to make umbrella, silverware, lacquer-ware, wood carving, silk and cotton and jewelry factory. In the evening have dinner In Khantoke dining-hall with Thai dancing and hill tribe shows.
(B/D) Overnight in Chiang Mai
Day 8  Visit Elephant camp and enjoy Elephant show, and then orchid garden and butterfly farm ( Optional for elephant riding , snake farm and monkey school ).In the afternoon visit Doi Suthep temple. In the evening stroll in the famous night market in Chiang Mai.

Day 9  Free in the morning and transfer to the airport. This ends the tour.
