In ancient times, the arts of Eastern and Western songs and dances were combined in Dunhuang, and therefore created Dunhuang folk music of unique style. The two 2-chi-long copies of music books left in Tang Dynasty (the year 933) completely record the score of that time. But it can not be read nowadays, so is called "sealed book". After many years of research, Xi Zhenguan, a famous scholar on Dunhuang issue of Gansu Province, broke down the deep "sealed book" in 1992, and restored the "music of Tang Dynasty" in its original form. "Dunhuang Ancient Music" has been recorded, and the tapes are on sale.
