The Catholic Church
The cathedral, originally named "The Saint Emil Church", is situated on Zhejiang Road. It was built by Germans in 1934, covering an area of 2,470 square meters. The 60 meters high church looks solemn and elegant and becomes a scenic spot of Qingdao.
The Christian Church
Built in 1910, the church follows the German Castle style with grand appearance. It comprises a bell tower and an auditorium. The auditorium is very bright and wide, and can hold a gathering of several thousand people.
Taiqing Taoist Palace of Mount Laoshan
Known as "Immortals' Cavern" or "Spirits' Fairyland" from the ancient time, Mount Laoshan enjoyed the fame of the Second Monastery of the Taoist Quanzhen Sect. In its heyday, there were nine Taoist palaces, eight Taoist temples and seventy-two Buddhist nunneries. The Laoshan Taoists were well-known throughout the country.
Zhanshan Temple
The Zhanshan Temple lies at the foot of Zhanshan Hill, with the Taiping Hill Park to its east. It was built in 1945 and has an area of 20,000 square meters. Entering the temple through five yards, you can see the famous Zhanshan Pagoda. The skillfully carved statues of Buddha in different postures are lifelike here. There is also a rich storage of Buddhist inscriptions.
