Former Residence of Su Song
Su Song once held the post of Prime Minister in the Song Dynasty. As an honest industrious and considerate high-ranking official, he made great achievements in his some 60 years of official career and left numerous scientific works after his death. Former Residence of Su Song-Reed Hill Hall (Lushan Tang), sits at Yongfeng Village, northwest of the town. it covers an area of 1,700 square meters. The extant Reed Hill Hall was rebuilt in the first year of the Republic of China, occupying an area of 750 square meters. A bust statue of Su Song, the genealogical tree of Su's clan and the images of the eight celebrities among Su's descendants are kept in the Hall.
In the newly completed Su Song Science and Technology Hall you can learn about the main achievements Su Song made during his life as a politician, diplomat, astronomer, pharmacologist, writer and historian. The model of the world's first astronomical clock invented by Su Song-Hydro-driven Celestial Globe-is also displayed in the Hall.
