PRAGUE, Oct. 28 (Xinhua) -- The Commissioner General of the Czech Pavilion has called the Shanghai World Expo a great success, highly praising the Shanghai authorities and others involved in its organization.
Pavel Stehlik made the remarks in a televised press conference here on Thursday.
The number of visitors to the Czech Pavilion during the Shanghai Expo reached over 8.5 million, some 12 to 13 percent of the total, and far outnumbered the original plan and estimation.
It is forecasted the Czech Pavilion would have a surplus of 90 million korunas (about 5 million US dollars), Stehlik said.
He also spoke out in favor of building a Czech House in Shanghai as a business and cultural center for all-round Sino-Czech exchanges, a new plan under discussion.
However, the current visa policy of the Czech Republic, together with the lack of direct flights between the two countries, might hamper further bilateral business and tourist exchanges, Stehlik said.
