Day 1/2 Arrive in Beijing then go to the hotel. Welcome dinner. Visit Great Wall and walk along one of its most impressive sections. Afternoon visit the Changling Tomb, the largest and best preserved among all the Ming Tombs. 2 N in Beijing.
Day 3/4 Today visit Forbidden City. Dominating the north side of Tiananmen Square, the massive red Tiananmen Gate allows us to pass into the fabled old palace to see the home of the royal family and their court during Chinese Ming and Qing Dynasties. Afternoon fly to Xi’an. Next morning visit the Terracotta Warriors Museum. The thousands of life size soldiers and horses were created to guard the tomb of Qin Shi Huang di, the first Emperor united China. Then Great Mosque, built in BC 742. The traditional Chinese-style architecture makes this mosque quite distinct from its Arabic counterparts. 2 N in Xi’an.
Day 5 Morning fly to Xining. Afternoon board the train for the overnight trip to Lhasa. O/N on train.
Day 6/7 Arrive in Lhasa in the afternoon, transfer us to our hotel. The rest time is free. Day 7 visit Potala Palace, the traditional home to the Dalai Lama and Tibet’s best-known landmark. Then comes Jokhang Temple, the most important pilgrimage center for Tibetan Buddhists and the home of the Sakyamuni Buddha, followed by a stroll through the colorful bazaar. Then Tibet Medicine Museum. 2 N in Lhasa.
Day 8 Drive to Yamdroktso, one of Tibet’s three holy lakes. Far in the distance is the huge mass of Mt. Nojin Kangtsang (23,592'). 1 N in Shigatse.
Day 9 Morning we drive to Tashilhunpo Monastery, the seat of the Panchen Lama, the second important spiritual leader of Tibet, then continue on to Tingri. 1 N in Tingri.
Day 10 Drive to Mt. Everest Base Camp. On a clear day, we can see the huge sweep of the Himalayan range. When we finally get to Base Camp, the first sight of Everest will leave us speechless. 1 N in Base Camp.
Day 11 Morning we head back to Shigaste where we can relax. 1 N in Shigatse.
Day 12 Exploration in Shigatse, then go back to Lhasa. 1 N in Lhasa.
Day 13 Morning is free till take flight to Shangri-la, located on the doorstep of Tibet. Formerly named Zhongdian, the city was officially renamed as “Shangri-La” in 2001. Tonight enjoy old town and market then enjoy the night dance in the main square. 2 N in Shangri-la.
Day 14 Morning we visit Songzanlin Monastery, the largest Buddhist monastery in Yunnan Province. built in 1679 after the fifth Dalai Lama chose the site through divination. Then we head into the mountains along the Tibet-Yunnan highway to visit the remote Dong Zhu Lin Monastery and view the First Bend of the Jinsha River (the local name for the Yangtze).
Day 15/16 Today drive to the spectacular Tiger Leaping Gorge, one of the deepest river canyons in the world, where the Jinsha River thunders between massive mountains in a series of rapids. We continue to the Old Town of Lijiang, one of the best-preserved ancient towns in China, where we walk through a maze of cobblestone streets and canals. Day 16 visit Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, its peak (18,359 ft.) has never been submitted. Ride a cable car to a glacier to experience the majesty of this massif up close. At afternoon travel to Baisha Village to see the famous Baisha Mural which is 300 years old. 2 N in Lijiang.
Day 17 Drive to Dali, an ancient city that first appeared on a map in the 2nd century AD. We visit Three Pagodas, 230 ft. tall, built over 1100 years ago. Afternoon stroll through Dali Old Town, former site of the capital city of the Nanzhao and Bai Kingdoms. 1 N in Dali.
Day 18 Morning visit Xizhou morning market, Bai Villiage and Zhouchen Village. After lunch fly to Jinghong. Explore Wild Elephant Valley, nature reserve for elephants, which is covered by rain forests. A cable car ride through the primitive jungle. 1 N in Jinghong.
Day 19/20 Morning travel to Ganlanba, where we visit morning market, Dai water villages, Burmese Temple and Rubber Orchard, afternoon fly to Kunming. Day 20 a full-day tour to Stone Forest, a vast limestone karst formation. The lunch is Yunnan local flavour Yiliang Roast Duck. 2 N in Kunming.
Day 21/22 Morning is free till we fly to Shanghai. Evening have a night boat trip on Huangpu River. Shanghai is a city that must be appreciated. City tour incl Shanghai Museum, Yuyuan Garden laid out in the 16th century. Strolling through the bazaar surrounding the garden, you will find lines of stores that sell traditional Chinese arts and crafts. Then visit Chenghuang Bazaar. Next comes the Bund, one of the most famous thoroughfares in China Farewell dinner with local flavor will be arranged for you. 2 N in Shanghai.
Day 23 Free in the morning and departure for leaving, end the service.
