The Yongjiang River runs through Nanning downtown area. It connects with the Xijiang River and the Pearl River. Traveling by water northward, you can reach Longzhou, Baise, as well as we Yunnan and Guizhou provinces. Going southward, you can reach Wuzhou, Guangzhou, Hong Kong and Macao. Seven water routes are available, linking Nanning with Longzhou, Baise, Guiyang, Wuzhou, Guangzhou, Zhuhai and Hong Kong. A total of 250 vessels travels on the water routes of 1,400 kilometers long, carrying passengers and cargoes into and out of the city. Along the waterway are five docks and one especially for containers, which handles over 600,000 tons per year.
