Driving Route:
Shenyang-Xinmin-Fuxin-Mt. Haitang. The whole course is 160 kilometers.
Mt. Haitang Forest Park is 22 kilometers south of Mongolia-nationality Autonomous County Seat of Fuxin, and is located to the north of the highest peak of Mt. Haitang, an extension of Mt. Yiwulv which is one of the three famous mountains in Northeast China.
Mt. Haitang winds and has jagged rocks of grotesque shapes. There are 260 well-preserved figures of Buddha carved on these stones, and among the carved figures, the largest is 5 meters tall and the smallest 10 centimeters. These figures of different kinds present hundreds of postures. The figures of Mt. Haitang were built by 5 Living Buddha for 6 generations since the 22nd year of Kangxi (1683) when Tibetan Buddhism Huangdu was introduced into Fuxin. After research, specialists say that such large-scale stone-carved figures in folk artist styles are rare throughout the country. So many figures carved on rare stones, with strange pines and a lot of rare trees serving as a contrast, form a marvelous spectacle in China.
