Longji Terraces are situated at Longji and Heping Villages under Heping Town, 22.5km from Longsheng County and 103 km from Guilin. The terraced fields are built along the sloe-winding riverside up to the mountaintop, the highest part being 880m above sea level and lowest 380m with a vertical fall of 500m.
Varied in sizes, Longji Terraces firstly appeared in Yuan Dynasty. Small hills with terrace fields are like conch, while big hills are like towers. The coiling line that starts from the mountain foot to the top divides the mountain into layers of silver belts in spring, layers of green waves in summer, layers of golden towers in autumn, and dragons playing with water in winter. Tourists can enjoy folk songs, liquors, colorful clothes of unique styles and folklore here. The terrace fields show a picture of great momentum and imposing beauty, being praised as "having no match in the world" and crystallization of the wisdom and labor of the people.
