The Former Residence of Yang Kaihui is an important revolutionary place for memory and a base for patriotism education. It was built in 1795, a clay-and-timber courtyard type structure. It consists of the rear, middle and front buildings and east and west wing chambers with courtyard in the central part. Facing the east, the building is against mountains on three sides. On the 6th of November in 1901, Yang was born here and her child hood and youth was spent in the building. Later, she pursued the revolutionary activities of Mao Tsetung. In October, 1930, she was captured by the KMT in the house.
