The remains are located 2 kilometers south of E Cheng County. In 1115, Wan Yan A Gu Da set up his capital here. In his view, gold will never erode so he named his country as Jin (gold). Huining in Shangjing at that time was one of the four most famous capitals in China. It is 11 kilometers in circumference and divided into south and north sections. In the south is the royal city while in the north is the residential area. There remain five parts of palaces in the royal city. Some parts such as the wall, gate and watchtower are conspicuous in the outline. This used to be the place where the decisions were made.
Huining had been the capital for 38 years and was the political, economic and cultural center as well as a large city in northeast Asia. In Shangjing, the remains of altar are in the south while the Temple of Earth in the north. This is the distinct cultural characteristic of the Chinese nation.
